It’s time!

It’s time to come together and create a system that supports all life. We’re creating a diverse multi-generational, multi-cultural space where families, singles, children and elders work together to co-create a sustainable, regenerative and resilient model for living in harmony with our Mother Earth.

We are calling in co-founding members to help create this new yet ancient way as we re-learn how to live sustainably, abundantly, and cooperatively on our planet and have described our key areas of need below.

Communications

As Communications Designer, you are excited about keeping the world informed about our project and your efforts help us reach potential new members and volunteers as well as potential collaborators and partners as we weave this web of small, local ecovillages, permaculture farms and other regenerative projects. Let us know if you:

• Want to use your amazing digital marketing, social media, photography and video editing skills and passions to document an exciting project that is changing how humans live.
• Can tell a good story and grab people’s attention through online, written and visual media.
• Have your own laptop with image and video editing capabilities.
• Want to help create the story and tell the world about how we’re building a New Earth.
• Hopefully are fluent in English and Spanish.

Water Systems

Water is life! We aim to increase our rainwater harvesting capacity, improve current potable water systems, expand our network of swales and ponds, and develop greywater filtration systems. Think about becoming our water designer if you:

• Can design and implement sustainable water systems.
• Understand water and how to find, capture, store, spread, conserve, and treat it – naturally or in easily naturalized ways.
• Envision a place where all water is sourced on-site from springs, streams, rivers, and rainwater systems.
• Know this can be done and maybe you even have experience with permaculture-based water systems.

Energy Systems

We are now connected to the grid and want to change that. We have ample sun, wind and water. This gives us multiple possibilities for generating both electrical and mechanical energy. You could be our energy designer if you:

• Envision practical, appropriate scale automation and mechanization technologies.
• Are the kind of person who can see the potential in everything.
• Can figure out how to turn scraps into a windmill, design and build a small water wheel, install a solar system or come up with some new and innovative form of energy.
• Think that energy should be free and all this sounds like fun – or maybe even a walk in the park.

Structures

To date our structures are built mostly of second hand and discarded materials – giving new purpose to trash and keeping it from going to landfills. The land we steward is also rich with natural building materials which until now we’ve only used on a small scale. It’s time to change that! We have the general design to convert an existing structure into a “quincha” multi-purpose space. As structure designer you:

• Can look at a blank canvas and see the possibilities.
• Have experience in eco, natural, and/or alternative buildings or are willing to move from modern ‘conventional’ building to sustainable methods. 
• Like to build from the ground up and are excited to learn new techniques and work with different materials.
• Envision a place where all dwellings and structures are designed purposefully to serve multiple functions.

Food Systems

Our food forest and raised beds are thriving. We’ve proven that we can grow just about everything we need right here on the land. Now we need someone to steward what’s been created and create appropriate scale systems as more people join us.  Consider being our food designer if you:

• Are passionate about tending, planting, harvesting, and maybe even processing food.
• Envision a place where the land provides the food, fiber, and other materials needed by the people living on it.
• Know this is possible!
• Have experience in designing and implementing sustainable, regenerative food systems (or are willing to learn).
• Enjoy working outdoors with plants and animals.

Social Dynamics

Creating this new way of being where we return to ancient but now lost ways, in connection with one another and with the earth requires us to shed the baggage not only of our lifetimes but the collective baggage of centuries. Let us know if you:

• Understand that reconnecting with ancient ways of being, in connection with one another and with the earth involves shedding the baggage of our lifetimes as well as the collective baggage of centuries.
• Have the skills to help people through this.
• Practice co-counseling, NVC, convergent facilitation and other modalities.
• Have facilitated diverse groups and helped resolve conflicts.
• Hopefully are fluent in English and Spanish.
