Casa Ubuntu – Cooperative Living Space

Combining the wisdom and ways of the past with a vision of an abundant and peaceful future, Casa Ubuntu is a shared living space in Antón, a small town in Panama. The property includes 9 bedrooms, courtyard gardens, two kitchens and multiple living and common areas suitable for many creative and productive activities. Fast internet also allows for online/digital pursuits, research, education and entertainment. There is an almost constant breeze and every room has ceiling fans for ample ventilation. Public transportation is readily accessible for travel to nearby towns, beaches, and mountains. Panama City is just 2.5 hours away.

Casa Ubuntu is now accepting applications from amazing people who want to share this remarkable space on a cooperative cost & talent share basis.  This is done in the spirit of Ubuntu – Contrubutionism and to align the use of the house (formerly a family hostel) more closely with the vision of the larger ecovillage project, 8^th Life Panama. Because of the cost and talent share aspect, the monthly contribution for living expenses is kept at a maximum of $200.00/person (for 1 – 4 residents) plus an estimated $75/month for groceries for shared meals. After 4 people, the monthly contribution will decrease as more people are welcomed to the Casa Ubuntu community. Talent share refers to equitably sharing everyday tasks, supporting on projects and providing your unique talent to community members.

This is an ideal living space for anyone looking to spend at least 3 months in a beautiful tropical location, whether a snowbird, digital nomad, gap-year, eco-traveler, permaculture practitioner, or someone seeking new experiences or who simply wants to enjoy a cooperative and supportive lifestyle. There is ample room at the house to create studios, office areas, and other work/life spaces, allowing many micro-enterprises to be run right from here. At Casa Ubuntu everyone benefits from the 8^th Life Panama EcoVillage Project as well, such as fresh food harvested from the food forest, educational opportunities and outdoor activities such as hiking, swimming and camping on the land.

Combinando la sabiduría y las formas del pasado con una visión de un futuro abundante y pacífico, Casa Ubuntu es un espacio de vida compartida en Antón, un pueblo pequeño en Panamá. La propiedad cuenta con 9 recámaras, jardines internos, dos cocinas y múltiples áreas comunes y de estar apropiadas para muchas actividades creativas y productivas. Internet rápido también permite actividades en línea /digitales, investigación, educación y entretenimiento. Existe una brisa casi constante y cada habitación tiene abanico de techo para amplia ventilación. El transporte público es de fácil acceso para visitar a los pueblos cercanos, playas y montañas. La ciudad de Panamá queda a unas 2.5 horas.

Casa Ubuntu está aceptando aplicaciones de personas increíbles que quieren compartir este espacio extraordinario en base de costo y talento compartido. Esto se realiza en el espíritu de Ubuntu – Contribucionismo y para alinear mejor el uso de la casa (anteriormente un hostal familiar) con la visión del proyecto macro de ecoaldea, 8th Life Panama. Debido a que se compartirán costos y talentos, la contribución mensual para todos los costos de vida se mantiene en un máximo de $200.00/persona (para 1 a 4 residentes) más un estimado $75/mes en comestibles para las comidas compartidas. Después de 4 personas la contribución mensual bajará a la medida que le damos la bienvenida a más personas a la comunidad de Casa Ubuntu. Talento compartido se refiere a compartir de manera equitativa las tareas cotidianas, apoyar en proyectos y proporcionar su talento único a los miembros de la comunidad.

Es un ambiente ideal de vida para quien busca pasar al menos 3 meses en un entorno tropical, sea quien le huye a la nieve, nómada digital, mochilero, viajero ecológico, practicante de la permacultura, o alguien que busca nuevas experiencias o sencillamente quiere disfrutar de un estilo de vida cooperativo y de apoyo. Hay suficiente espacio en la casa para crear estudios, oficinas, y otros entornos de vida y trabajo, permitiendo que se realicen aquí mismo muchos microemprendimientos. En Casa Ubuntu todo el mundo también se beneficia del Proyecto de EcoAldea 8th Life Panama, tal como comida fresca cosechada del bosque comestible, oportunidades de aprendizaje y actividades al aire libre como el senderismo, natación y acampar en el terreno.
